Teaching laboratories and teaching materials encompass expertise in:

molecular biology

immunology
microbiology
genetics
anatomy
embryology
histology

Research core facilities include:

transmission and scanning electron microscopes
flow and cell sorting cytometers
recombinant DNA and monoclonal antibody laboratories
cell culture equipment
animal colonies
fully equipped greenhouse
charged-coupling device quantitative fluorescence microscopes
automated DNA sequencing capability
water quality analysis devices
ultracentrifuges
scintillation and gamma counters
HPLC systems
fully-equipped research darkroom.

In addition to the core facilities, each member of the graduate faculty maintains a research lab. These facilities are utilized by faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students to pursue research projects funded by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, The United States Department of Agriculture, and many private foundations.
